The iconic 131-year-old Honey Run Covered Bridge (pedestrian-only since 1965) was destroyed in the November 2018 Camp Fire.  In January 2019 a group of public and private stakeholders decided to do everything possible to rebuild the beloved Covered Bridge. The Bridge had been publicly-owned by Butte County, but with public funds unavailable it was decided to transfer ownership to the nonprofit Honey Run Covered Bridge Association who would rebuild the Bridge entirely with private donations.  The total cost of the rebuild is estimated at $2.9 million.  $1.2 million has been raised thus far which nearly covers our engineering plans, permits and Phase 1 construction (foundations, columns, abutments, slope protection).  Phase 1 construction was completed in November 2020.  Phase 2 (flooring and trusses) will start in summer 2022, pending funding.  Phase 3 (siding and roof) will follow in 2023, pending funding.  Every donated dollar matters!
